A 36-YEAR-OLD woman convicted for sale and possession of prohibited substance by a court in North Cotabato was captured by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group on Monday, PDEG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar P. Matta said yesterday.

Venus Rivera alias “Sana,” one of the most wanted drug suspects in Socsksargen region, is the subject of a warrant for “service of sentence” issued by Judge Arvin Sadiri Balagot of the Kidapawan City Regional Trial Court Branch 17 in North Cotabato last March 11, the official said.

Matta said that around 11:30 a.m. Monday, members of the PDEG Special Operations Unit 12, with the help of operatives from the Regional Intelligence Unit 12 and the Police Regional Office 13, tracked down the convicted felon in her hiding place in Bgy. Linangkob in Kidapawan City.

The suspect is now being held at the Kidapawan City Police Station pending the issuance of an official jail commitment order on her by the court.
