PDEA collars 2, seizes 2.4M MJ bricks in Tarlac

TARLAC CITY – Agents of PDEA Tarlac seized over the weekend bricks of dried marijuana amounting to P2,400,000 and arrested two drug suspects in a drug sting launched in this city, on the night of June 6, 2021.

PDEA Central Luzon Director Christian O Frivaldo identified the arrested suspects as Julius Castro, 24, single, massage therapist, resident of Hilario St., Bgy. Ligtasan, Tarlac City, Tarlac; and John David Tapar, 28, married, Driver, resident of 3712 Karina Street, Bgy San Sebastian, Tarlac City, Tarlac.

Frivaldo said PDEA agents secured a drug deal with the suspects and immediately collared them after transaction was completed.

The operation yielded 20 bricks of suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing more or less 20 kgs (estimated street value amounting to 2.4 million); Keypad cellphone; buy-bust money and a Ford Ranger.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
