PDEA agents seize P136M shabu, collar 2 in Cavite
AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Saturday morning seized 20 kilograms of shabu worth P136 million during a buy-bust in Bacoor City in Cavite which resulted in the arrest of two suspects including a teenager, PDEA chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva said.
The official identified one of the suspects arrested during the sting as Michelle Castro Bardelosa, 39, resident of Block 14, Lot 24, Phase 1 Avida Settings in Barangay Molino, Bacoor City.
The 2nd suspect was a 16-year old male companion of Bardelosa.
According to Villanueva, members of the PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service, the PDEA Special Enforcement Service and PDEA Cavite Provincial Office launched the operation with the assistance of officers from the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group, Bacoor City Police Station and the Task Force Noah of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The PDEA chief said that during the operation conducted near the suspects’ residence, the two conspired to sell a kilo of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P6.8 million to an undercover agent.
Shortly after the deal was consummated, the two were placed under arrest.
Villanueva said that recovered during the operation were the drugs sold by the suspects and 19 more kilos of the same stuff which were found in their possession and the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.
Non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the suspects who are now undergoing questioning at the PDEA national headquarters in Quezon City. With DENNIS ABRINA
