PCSO turns over PTVs to 4 Ilocos Norte towns
THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over patient transport vehicles (PTVs) to four municipalities of Ilocos Norte as part of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair of the national government.
In a ceremony on Sep. 23 at the Laoag Centennial Arena, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles personally turned over five PTVs to Cong. Sandro Marcos, representative of the 1st district of Ilocos Norte.
The municipalities of Pasuquin, Bacarra, Pagudpud and Piddig in the province passed as eligible recipients of the PTVs, according to the PCSO.
Given the difficulty of accessing medical services in the province, the PTVs will be used to transport patients to and from hospitals/clinics.
“Taos puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa inyo, and we hope for a continued partnership in service of [Filipinos]. Ito lang po ang simula ng ating tulong sa Ilocos Norte,” said Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc.
The Serbisyo Fair is under the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ brand of governance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. It aims to bring the services of various national government agencies closer to Filipinos
Residents only need to register at bagongpilipinastayo.com to participate in the one-stop shop of free government services.
The ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ brand of governance is reminiscent of the ‘Bagong Lipunan’ campaign of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, the president’s late father.
