PCSO Silver Cup at MMTC
THE Metro Manila Turf Club in Malvar, Batangas plays host to one of the most anticipated days in the horseracing calendar: the P4-million Philracom-PCSO Silver Cup which will feature a renewal of rivalries between two of the top gallopers in the land.
Boss Emong and Super Swerte, two mega crowd favorites are expected to draw in the crowds both at the track and the off-track betting stations as they have been pitted against each other in several major events.
Everytime fueling the imagination of their respective supporters in each encounter.
Their most recent face-off was during the Philracom Chairman’s Cup last May at the same track where Boss Emong (Dance City out of Chica Una) asserted his claim that the Malvar track was “his house”.
But prior to that Boss Emong and Super Swerte have been splitting their meetings thus fanning even the discussion boards on social media.
The journey will be at 1800-meters and both superstars will be partnered anew with their respective jockeys, Jeffril Zarate on Boss Emong and Jesse Guce on Super Swerte (Art Moderne out of Faster Tapper).
Not to be discounted are the other titled runners such as 2020 Presidential Gold Cup champ Pangalusian Island, Triple Crown two-leg and PGC winner Nuclear Bomb, Grand Derby champion and Triple Crown sweep spoiler War Cannon and PGC performer Sky Shot.
Also joining the hunt for the P2.4-million top prize are no pushovers such as Cam From Behind, King Tiger, Robin Hood, Big Lagoon and Spandau Ballet.
“Even if the focus will be on Boss Emong and Super Swerte, the rest of the field are capable of pulling the rug from under the two superstars and bring home the bacon. This proves to be a very interesting race full of strategies coming from the connections,” Philracom Chairman Reli de Leon said.
He adds, “The racing public will surely come in full force to watch their “idols” at work. Not to mention the P4,000 added by each of the participants’ connections to the WIN betting pool which will make for a juicier dividend.”
