PCSO obtains WLA level 2 certification
THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has obtained World Lottery Association (WLA) Level 2 Certification for Responsible Gaming.
The obtaining of the certification enabled the PCSO to join the elite group of lottery operators globally recognized for their commitment to responsible gaming practices.
This achievement came following the recommendation of an independent assessment panel that recognized PCSO’s dedication in promoting responsible gaming, while fulfilling its mission to raise funds for health and welfare programs.
Certification process to get such certification includes a thorough evaluation of PCSO’s responsible gaming programs, focusing on measures to prevent underage participation, mitigate gaming-related risks and educating the public on responsible play.
Lottery organizations that successfully implement responsible gaming initiatives based on the WLA Responsible Gaming Framework are given the WLA Level 2 Certification.
It also recognizes PCSO’s development of comprehensive policies, staff training programs and strategies designed to ensure the safe and sustainable operation of its gaming activities.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles expressed gratitude for the significant milestone, stating, “achieving the WLA Level 2 Certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to balancing revenue generation for charitable causes with the promotion of responsible gaming.”
PCSO’s attainment of WLA Level 2 Certification aligns with its broader corporate social responsibility objectives, emphasizing player protection and promoting sustainable gaming practices.
Robles expressed confidence that the new category will result in enhancing PCSO’s capability to raise funds that support essential services such as medical assistance, disaster response and livelihood programs for Filipinos.
