PCAP inter-school chessfest underway
EXPECT exciting battles when the first PCAP National Inter-School chess championships come off the wraps this weekend.
Ateneo de Manila and San Sebastian College, two of the leading collegiate teams in the country, square off in one of 10 opening-day matches in this tournament organized by the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP).
In other matches, it will be Rizal High School against Adamson University, Dasmariñas Integrated High School against Chiang Kai Shek College, La Salle-St. Benilde against St. Stephen’s, TIP-Alumni against International School-Manila, Jose Rizal University- Mandaluyong against Unuversity of Cebu, University of Caceres against LICS-Pasig, VCIS-Pasig against MGC-New LIfe, LICS-Pasig 2 against University of the Philippines and Polytechnic University of the Philippines against VCIS-Taguig.
Colorful opening ceremony will usher in the tournament with PCAP President- Commissioner Atty. Paul Elauria delivering the inspirational remarks.
PCAP Chairman Michael Angelo Chua will also give welcome remarks, while NM Nika Juris Nicholas will lead the oath of sportsmanship.
San Juan Predators coach Hubert Estrella is the host.
