PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Sunday promised to rebuild schools and other infrastructure damaged by Typhoon Marce in Ilocos Norte.

“Kaya’t kasama natin si Secretary Sonny Angara ng DepEd (Department of Education) ay tiningnan naman namin ‘yung sira sa mga school room,” President Marcos said during his visit to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.

“Hinahanapan namin ng paraan para mabilis natin maayos para makabalik ang mga bata, para para makapasok ulit, makabalik sa eskwela,” he said.

The President said DepEd will carry out alternative learning so that classes could resume while classrooms are being repaired.

As to the damaged seawall near the National High School, the President said the rehabilitation is now up for bidding.

Itutuloy na kaya’t mabilis,” he added.

To be more effective in responding to emergencies, the President said the government is adopting the whole-of-government approach. He promised to continue helping typhoon victims until their lives normalize.
