PBBM to distribute cash aid to 32,392 Cavite fisherfolks affected by oil spill
GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite. – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is scheduled to give financial aid today, , August 28, 2024, to the 32,392 oil spill-affected fishermen and fish vendors at the General Trias Sports Complex in Bgy. Santiago, this city.
The President will be welcomed by local leaders led by Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr., along with local chief executives, including Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV of this city and those affected by the Bataan oil spill in Bacoor City, Cavite City, Kawit, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza, Naic, Maragondon and Ternate.
Each fisherfolk will receive P10,000.
A total budget of P323,920,000 will be distributed by the President to those affected by the oil spill that hit the province on July 24, 2024.
Assistant Secretary at Presidential Communications Office Joey Villarama revealed that initially,10 fisherfolks in the nine localities will be given the cash aid and the rest will be turned over to their respective local chief executives in a press briefing by Malacanang yesterday at Cafe Marcelo in Imus City.
