PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. thanked Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for helping the country in bringing aid to the victims of typhoon Kristine and Leon.

“I spoke with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today to personally thank him and the people of Malaysia for their invaluable help after Typhoon Kristine. The air support they provided allowed us to reach areas that are still struggling with severe flooding, bringing relief to families who otherwise couldn’t be reached,” Marcos said.

“In this time of mourning the lives lost, it is also heartening to see how our friends in ASEAN have responded with support in our time of need. This kind of solidarity is what strengthens our region,” the President added.

Marcos and Ibrahim spoke via phone call on Monday.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the number of reported fatalities due to tropical cyclones Kristine and Leon increased to 151.
