PBBM supporters slam Vico Sotto for calling Marcos a dictator
Supporters of the Marcos administration have criticized Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto for labeling the late former Philippine president, Ferdinand Marcos Sr., as a dictator.
On Twitter, Sotto allegedly called Marcos a DICTATOR.
“Let’s not be fooled! Enough with the historical revisionism. Fight for justice.” These were the words Sotto during his campaign for Mayor of Pasig in the 2022 national elections to oppose the candidacy of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Sotto, a strong ally of former President Rodrigo Duterte who was arrested for crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC), alleged that Marcos Sr. is not a hero but a dictator.
The Pasig leader posted the controversial remarks on his social media platform sometime in 2016 to align himself with the anti-Marcos groups to prevent the burial of the late President Marcos Sr. at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
During a visit by President Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos to turn over several ambulances and financial support to the residents of Pasig, almost all barangay captains were participating in team-building activities on that specific date, ensuring that no local officials would be present to greet the Marcoses.
Duterte, known for his controversial anti-drug campaign that resulted in the deaths of many innocent people, raised the hand of Vico Sotto when he ran for mayor of Pasig.
