PBA: Hotshots survive Warriors

MAGNOLIA Pambansang Manok made it five wins in a row by pulling off a dramatic come-from-behind 112-109 victory over NLEX in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Import Mike Harris topscored with 31 points, including a pressure-packed basket with 12 seconds left, as the Hotshots rallied from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to escape with the victory.

NLEX had a chance to send the game into overtime, but KJ McDaniels and Don Trollano missed potential game-tying triples in the closing seconds.

Paul Lee added 21 points and Ian Sangalang contributed 14 points for Magnolia, which played minus injured forward Calvin Abueva and Rome de la Rosa.

The Hotshot’s 5-0 record is also the best start to a tournament under coach Chito Victolero.

McDaniels finished with 35 points for NLEX, which dropped a third consecutive game.

Meanwhile, Mikey Williams scored 22 of his game-high 30 points in tge fourth quarter as Talk N Text defeated San Miguel Beer , 96-81, to snap a two-game losing skid.

Import Aaron Fuller also had another all-around game with 22 points, 26 rebounds and six blocks for the Tropang Giga, who improved to 3-4.

June Mar Fajardo had 22 points and 14 rebounds and Terrence Romeo contributed 18 points for San Miguel, which droppex to 3-3

New SMB import Orlando Johnson, however, managed only 12 points on 3-of-22 shooting
