Patient kills hospital sikyu

A PATIENT, said to be a barangay kagawad in Sampaloc, snatched a security guard’s firearm and shot him dead inside a hospital Monday night in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

PLtCol. John Guiagui, Station Commander of the Manila Police District Station 3 (MPD3, said a gunshot wound in the chest killed the victim, Arturo Budlong, 37, security guard of the Achievers Security Agency assigned at the second floor of the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC) located inside the San Lazaro Compound on Rizal Avenue, Sta. Cruz.

The suspect, identified as Anthony Carlo Galivo, 37, of 507 Paltoc St., Sampaloc, Manila, was wounded.

Galivo, a patient at the surgical ward on the second floor, was shot by the cops when he tried to resist arrest.

Guiagui said a report from duty investigator PSSG Dexter Onaro showed the incident occurred at 10:40 p.m.

Prior to that, the victim reportedly noticed the suspect going in and out of a room.

The suspect reportedly saw the victim turning his back, took tje guard’s 9mm service firearm and fired, hitting him in the chest.

The suspect then fled on foot toward the morgue section of the hospital where he was cornered by responding cops.

Instead of giving up however, the suspect was said to have fired at the policemen, prompting the lawmen to shoot back.

The suspect was hit in the abdomen and left leg and was rushed to the emergency room.

The victim died at around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Guiagui said the suspect was admitted June 18 when he tried to end his life. He had been charged with murder before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
