Pasay solon has mild COVID-19
PASAY City Rep. Antonino Calixto announced on Wednesday that he was found to have a mild case of COVID-19 and is now under isolation.
The lone congressional representative of Pasay has sought medical attention after experiencing dry cough on Monday.
Pasay City Public Information Office (PIO) head Jhun Burgos said Congressman Calixto is working from home while on self isolation.
According to Congressman Calixto, his close contacts, particularly his immediate family, also underwent swab tests, and were found negative of the virus. However, they were required to stay at home for at least 14 days as prescribed by health experts.
Congressman Calisto said those working in his office, who had personally met him, also underwent swab tests, and they were advised to also stay at home for two weeks.
He added that he and his younger sister, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, were not in the same meeting.
Despite Calixto siblings were not in the same meeting, Mayor Emi underwent self isolation beginning on Tuesday and said she will have a swab test in five days to determine whether or not she contracted the disease.
“Kasalukuyan, nasa mabuti po akong kalagayan at naka self isolate na po ako upang di na po ako makahawa ng iba kung sakali,” said Mayor Emi who, in February 2021, was tested positive of the virus.
Mayor Emi, while on self isolation, is working from home. She, however, continues to perform her duties and remains on top of the situation in managing the operations of the city government.
Mayor Emi ordered all Pasay City Hall Departments and Officials to assure continuous services for the people while she is under isolation.
Likewise, Mayor Emi instructed the Pasay City Epidemiological and Surveillance Unit (CESU) to ramp up its contact tracing and testing to get a clearer picture of how vast the disease has spread in a city of 416,522 people.
