THE Pasay City Government condemned the statements made by Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) spokesperson Winston Casio, concerning illegal operations of Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) in Pasay City that tarnish the reputation of the city officials.

“Pasay City is 100 percent behind President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call to end illegal POGO operations in the country. We do not tolerate unlawful activities within our jurisdiction. The Pasay LGU has already implemented and will continue to enforce strict measures to curb POGO operations in our jurisdictions,” Mayor Imelda “Emi” Calixto-Rubiano said in her statement.

The mayor said this includes intensified monitoring, stringent regulatory enforcement, and unwavering cooperation with national law enforcement agencies. “We will not hesitate to take stern action against those who undermine our efforts to create a safe and peaceful environment for all Pasayeños,” the mayor added.

Mayor Emi said her administration is taking a strong stance against any form of POGO operations and they are increasing enforcement efforts and collaborating closely with national authorities. “Anyone found violating the law will face consequences” the mayor warned.

The City Chief Executive also clarified reports that there are no business permits issued to any POGO facilities that discreetly operate in concealed locations especially those recently raided by PAOCC.

“It must be clarified that Pasay City has issued business permits to over 13,000 establishments this year, all of which have undergone thorough examination,” Mayor Emi said.
