AUTHORITIES arrested the floor manager of a KTV Bar and rounded up five of its employees for allegedly operating in clear violation of Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) protocols Monday before dawn in Pasay City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said operatives of Pasay Police Intelligence Section led by P/Maj. Jerry Sunga raided the Galaxy KTV Bar located at Hobbies of Asia in Macapagal Boulevard at around 2:30 a.m. following a tip from concerned citizen that the bar was operating despite the existing IATF guidelines that bars and night clubs are not allowed to operate in areas where Alert Level 4 is being implemented.

Police rounded up five employees of the bar identified as Elren Pusing, 32, waitress, Mark Anthony Cerbito, 27, Joel Caalim, 26, Jerry Quartero Jr. 28, and Arjay Glen Rebulas, 33, all waiters and were issued City Ordinance Violation Receipt (COVR) for violating Social Distancing and Curfew under Pasay City Ordinance No. 6129.

BGen. Macaraeg said Michael Relampago, 29, floor manager, was also arrested and was presented for inquest proceedings before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation of RA 11332, Sec 9 para (e) otherwise known as Non-cooperation of the person or entities identified as having the notifiable disease, or affected by the health event of public concern.

Upon receiving the report, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano immediately ordered the Bureau of Permits and Licensing Office to issue closure order against Galaxy KTV Bar for violating the IATF guidelines.

BGen. Macaraeg meanwhile warned bar owners and establishments that are not allowed to operate to follow the guidelines or face the consequence once they are caught violating IATF protocols.
