Parañaque opens 1st drive thru vac site
THE Parañaque City government has partnered with a private subdivision homeowner’s association and barangay officials to open its first drive-thru vaccination site and as a way to boost the government’s inoculation rollout.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez assisted by the City Health Office frontliners supervised the rollout of its drive-thru vaccination program in Barangay BF Homes, the largest pose and most populated private subdivision in the city.
As of June 28, the total number of active cases in Barangay BF is 67 with 63 deaths and 2, 326 recoveries among the 2,456 confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU).
Olivarez said the program aims to inoculate at least 16,000 residents or 1,000 each of the city’s 16 barangays until the end of next month.
During its first day, the Barangay BF Homes Drive-thru site accommodated 58 residents belonging to A1-A4 priority groups.
The mayor said drive-thru vaccination program would be helping residents who could not visit the city’s vaccination sites because of their health condition and serve those who want to get inoculated but are busy with their work.
Olivarez pointed out that residents accommodated in this site will undergo the usual process – site registration, screening, vaccination, and post vaccination evaluation where patients will park their cars in designated slots.
