‘Pandemic affected’ – lolo hangs self
A 62-YEAR-OLD man on Monday committed suicide by hanging in Lipa City, Batangas.
The Lipa City Police Station identified the victim as Mario Dimaculangan, a resident of Purok 5, Bgy. Lumbang, Lipa City.
Jerick Rocamora, who passed by the area, saw the old man hanging from a Hawili tree at 5 p.m. on Monday.
Rocamora immediately called the police.
Dimaculangan used a nylon cord he looped around his neck while the other end he tied on a tree branch in killing himself.
The victim’s family told the police that before Dimaculangan was found dead, he was suffering from depression.
Dimaculangan became jobless since the start of the pandemic.
Police said an autopsy is being done to determine if there was foul play in the old man’s death.
