CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija’s Palayan City Mayor Adrianne Mae “Rianne” J. Cuevas was elected national treasurer during PDP-Laban’s national assembly held at the Royce Hotel in Clark Field, Pampanga last Saturday.
Cuevas was joined by other local PDP-Laban stalwarts – Third district Rep. Ria Vergara, her husband, Cabanatuan City Vice Mayor Jay Vergara, Gapan City Mayor Emeng Pascual, former Vice Gov. Edward Thomas F. Joson, Sta. Rosa Mayor Otep Angeles and Bongabon Mayor Allan Xystus Gamilla.
The ruling party’s convention was presided over by the Party Chair himself, President Rodrigo R. Duterte, who swore in the new set of elected officers led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, the party’s former vice chair, who was elected as PDP-Laban’s new president, replacing Senator Manny Pacquaio.
Also in attendance at the national assembly were Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who was elected Auditor, House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, and several Cabinet Secretaries led by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
During the convention, Duterte vowed to personally campaign for the ruling party members in their respective turfs – province, city and municipality in the upcoming 2022 national and local polls.
“Ang malaking delegasyon ng Nueva Ecija kabilang ang maraming mayors, vice mayors at konsehal na tatakbo sa ilalim ng PDP-Laban ay lubos na natuwa sa pangako na ang Pangulong Duterte ay pupunta sa ating lalawigan para ikampaniya ang mga kandidato ng ating Partido,” said Cuevas on her Lungsod ng Palayan FB post on Sunday.
