THE Department of Transportation (DOTr) was recently commended by Malacañang for its 100% resolution of the over 300 concerns lodged by citizens last year.

The DOTr acted on all the 325 tickets referred by the 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Center from January 1, 2022 to November 30, 2022. This is equivalent to 100% resolution rate.

“We would like to commend your efforts in ensuring that all citizens’ concerns referred to your office are acted upon on time,” stated in a letter to Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista.

The 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center added it is looking forward for a continued partnership with the Department in the campaign against corruption and red tape in the government.

The 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center was created as a mechanism where citizens may report their complaints and grievances on acts of red tape as defined under Republic Act (RA) No. 9485, as amended by RA No. 11032, and/or corruption of any government agency, government-owned and controlled corporation, government financial institution, and other instrumentalities of the government.

The Center sends the monthly resolution rate of the DOTr pursuant to the Guidelines on the Grant of the Performance Based Bonus (PBB) for every fiscal year.
