PAL flights rerouted to avoid Russian airspace

ALL Philippine Airlines (PAL) flights from New York JFK to Manila (PR 127) and from Toronto to Manila (PR 119) are temporarily being rerouted to avoid flying through Russian airspace for now.

As a result of the longer routings, the JFK-Manila and Toronto-Manila will need to stop over briefly in Vancouver for refueling before proceeding to Manila.

PAL is taking this precautionary measure in view of airspace closure concerns related to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

A one-hour refueling stop and the longer routing over the North Pacific Ocean will increase travel time.

The airline seeks the understanding of passengers for this necessary step, as safety and operational integrity remain the cornerstone of PAL operations.

However, PAL eastbound flights from Manila (PR 126 and PR 118) will continue to operate nonstop from Manila to New York JFK, and nonstop from Manila to Toronto – these flights do not overfly Russian territory.

PAL will revert to nonstop JFK-MNL and Toronto-MNL flights as soon as operational issues are resolved.
