PAGING MARY GRACE PIATTOS
MARY Grace Piattos is not existing, at least based on the record of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The PSA has sent a copy of verification to the House committee on good government and public accountability.
The name Mary Grace Piattos appeared when the committee showed the acknowledgement receipts (ARs) of the Office of the Vice President using the confidential funds, submitted to the Commisson on Audit (COA).
According to the documents submitted by the PSA, there is no birth, marriage and even death record under the said name.
Some members of the committee expressed doubts on the individual as “fictitious entity possibly named after a restaurant and a snack.
The PSA said it could search further for a civil registry document if it receives additional information like the name of Mary Grace Piattos parents.
It can be recalled that at a recent House hearing, a special disbursing officer of the OVP claimed that the surname, Piattos actually exists in Davao City.
Even Vice President Sara Duterte refused to comment on “Mary Grace Piattos” saying she had not seen the receipt where the name supposedly appeared.
Several lawmakers offered P1 million in reward money for anyone who could help identify and lead ‘to Mary Grace Piattos.”
