AROUND P80k high-grade marijuana or “kush” was seized by authorities from two drug personalities in a buy-bust operation Tuesday before dawn in Caloocan City.

Caloocan Police Chief P/Col. Ruben Lacuesta said the arrest of two suspects was the result of information provided by a confidential informant of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) led by P/Maj. Dennis Odtuhan.

The operation was hatched after the suspects agreed to sell a medium plastic zip lock of high-grade dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops worth P15,000 to a police poseur-buyer at the corner of 7th Avenue and Maria Clara St. Barangay 109 at around 3 a.m. (January 17).

When the suspects handed the zip lock plastic sachet containing dried leaves with fruiting tops or kush to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P15,000 marked money, operatives of DEU, together with elements of 3rd Mobile Force Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion-National Capital Region Police Office (MFC-RMFB-NCRPO), immediately pounced on them.

When frisked, three more medium vacuum plastic containing high-grade marijuana leaves placed in a paper bag weighing more or less 80 grams were seized from the suspects along with the marked money.

Lacuesta said the arrested suspects are presently detained at the Custodial Facility of Caloocan Police Headquarters pending the filing of charges for selling and possession of high-grade marijuana while the evidence recovered was turned over to PNP/NPD Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
