P41.2M MJ destroyed in Kalinga

THE intensified campaigned of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) against marijuana scored anew after the discovery of another P41.2 million worth of marijuana under OPLAN 11 Lima ”Dragonfly” of Kalinga PDEU and PDEA CAR OPLAN May “Hemp” on May 12 to 14, 2021, in the vicinity of Bgy. Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga Province, PRO-COR Director Ronald Oliver Lee said Saturday.

The operating units led by PLt. Col. Elmo W. Aspilan, PDEU Officer Kalinga PPO under the supervision of PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong, Kalinga Police Provincial Director with PDEA conducted a marijuana eradication operation that resulted in the discovery of 80,000 pcs. of fully grown marijuana plants planted on an estimated land area of 8,000 sq.m. with a standard drug price (SDP) of P16 million and 210 kilograms of MJ dried stalks with SDP P25.2 million, for an estimated overall SDP of P41.2 million.

All discovered MJ dried stalks and MJ plants were properly documented and were uprooted and burned onsite. No cultivator was apprehended during the said operation.
