P3M shabu seized in P’que, Taguig buy-busts
ILLEGAL drugs worth more than P3 million were seized by authorities in two separate buy-bust operations Saturday evening and Sunday before dawn in Paranaque and Taguig Cities.
Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg announced the arrest of Edrian Geronimo Chacon, alias “Kaka”, 30 following a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Paranaque Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday along Angelina Canaynay Avenue, Brgy. San Isidro.
Seized from Chacon were a black sling bag containing around 70 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P476,000 and the marked money consisting of one P1,000 bill and six P1,000 boodle bills.
At 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, joint elements of Taguig Police SDEU and Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) team nabbed Alonto Aminola Kasim, 27, after he handed a small plastic bag containing shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P45,000 marked money along Road 14, Maguindanao St. Brgy. New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
When frisked, lawmen seized from his possession a gray sling bag containing more or less 430 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P2,924,000 and the marked money consisting of one genuine P1,000.00 bill and 44 pieces of P1,000 boodle money.
Macaraeg said all seized illegal drugs were turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis while the arrested suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Taguig and Paranaque Cities Prosecutor’s Office.
“I would like to commend our operating units for another laudable accomplishment that resulted in the confiscation of large amount of illegal drugs. We will remain aggressive in our fight against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality in southern metropolis,” Macaraeg said.
