P277K shabu seized, 2 suspects shot dead in Ecija shootout

STA. ROSA, Nueva Ecija – Authorities seized some P277,000 worth of shabu while two motorcycle-riding suspects carrying the illegal drugs were killed in an alleged shootout after the duo turned hostile during a buy-bust conducted early Sunday morning here.

Reports reaching the office of Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon identified the slain drug suspects as Emmanuel De Guzman, of 142 Balagtas BMA, San Rafael, Bulacan, and Eduardo Vendivil Jr., of Block 8, Lot 11, Bgy. San Esteban, Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The suspects’ Yamaha Aerox motorcycle was seen parked beside the dead suspects along a concrete pavement.

Reports said members of the provincial police drug enforcement unit headed by Lt. Col. Alexie A. Desamito, the PIU-NEPPO, PDEA-Nueva Ecija RO3, 303rd MC RMFB3, and Sta. Rosa police conducted the buy-bust along a new road in Bgy. Soledad which resulted in the armed encounter.

Seized during the operation were 11 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 40 grams valued at P277,000. Also recovered at the encounter site were the two suspects’ .38 caliber revolvers, including several fired bullets and the P1,000 marked money used in the buy-bust.

De Leon said the intensified drive to eradicate illegal drugs in Central Luzon and arrest its proliferators will continue to be relentless in compliance with the directives of the PNP Chief Director-General Debold M. Sinas as per explicit orders from President Duterte.
