P1M shabu seized from 2 drug suspects in Pasig

NEARLY P1 million worth suspected shabu was seized from two drug listed personalities along with their two customers following an operation by members of Eastern Police District –Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) on Monday night, police said yesterday.

Reports reaching Eastern Police District (EPD) director Brig Gen. Matthew Baccay identified the suspects as Racquel Vasquez, 42 ,of Bgy Rosario ;Rose Corpuz , 22 of Bgy Palatiw ; Carl Jay Buenaventura, 24, of Bgy Manggahan and Thomas Christian Jimenez,28, of Bgy Pinagbuhatan, all in Pasig City.

The four were nabbed in a buy-bust conducted by the EPD-DDEU headed by Major Darwin Guerrero on144 Dr. Sixto Avenue, Bgy. Rosario at around 8 p.m.

Guerrero said the operation was conducted following reports that live-in partners Corpuz and Buenaventura continue their illegal drug trade

Police received information that the two were set to deliver drugs to Vasquez at her residence in Bgy.Rosario.

Cops transacted with the two for the purchase of P4,000 worth of shabu and agreed to meet at the said residence.

When the Corpuz and Buenaventura handed the illegal drugs they were arrested by other policemen along with Vasquez and another customer Jimenez.

During the arrest, police were able to seize at least 137 grams of suspected shabu.

Guerrero said the shabu seized from the suspects has a street value of P931,600.

Guerrero said Corpuz and Buenaventura are on the EPD’s drug watchlist.

The two were former drug detainees at the Pasig City Police Station Jail in 2018. They were released after posting bail.

Jimenez waa released several months ago after his probation for drug charges.

The four suspects were charged with violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and is now detained at the Pasig City Jail.
