MORE than P1 million worth of shabu and a caliber .45 caliber pistol were seized by police from a septuagenarian woman, tagged as a big-time drug pusher, in a drug sting operation Friday afternoon in Taguig City.
Southern Police District Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said the arrest of 72-year-old Vilma Isani, alias “Madam,” by elements of the Taguig Drug Enforcement Unit in front of her house in Brazil Street, UMC Village, Bgy. Napindan at around 5:30 p.m. only proves that age is just a number.
Isani was arrested after she handed a medium-size plastic sachet of shabu to an undercover cop in exchange for P50,000 marked money consisting of P1,000 genuine bill and 49 pieces of boodle money.
Operatives confiscated from the suspect more or less 152.06 grams of shabu with standard drug price worth P1,034,008, a cal. 45 Armscor pistol with magazine loaded with three live ammunition, a black pouch, brown shoulder bag and the marked money.
“Walang pinipili ang kampanya kontra illegal drugs ng Southern Police District, bata man o matanda, babae o lalake, pantay pantay naming ipatutupad ang batas,” Macaraeg said.
Isani will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
