POLICE seized more than P114,000 worth of illegal drugs from six drug personalities, including two identified drug pushers, in a drug sting operation Saturday afternoon in Malabon City.

Malabon City police chief P/Col. Albert Barot said elements of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Lt. Alexander Dela Cruz arrested the suspects identified as Jose Garcia, Jr. 35, Christine De Silva, 26, both drug pushers, Anna Rocel Espineda, 34, Jasper Escalana, 20, Michael Martin, 46, and Ferdinand Aquino 42, during the buy-bust operation conducted at around 2 p.m. along Del Rosario St Brgy. Dampalit.

Lt. Dela Cruz said Garcia and De Silva were the subjects of the drug sting operation after his men confirmed their illegal drug activities in a week-long surveillance and monitoring operation.

When the two handed a plastic sachet of shabu to P/Cpl. Emiel Jay Cantos, who acted as poseur-buyer in exchange for P500 marked money, operatives of SDEU immediately pounced on them.

Four other drug personalities who were with the duo during the conduct of buy-bust operation on board a red electronic trike were also accosted by policemen and when frisked, they yielded a total of 16.80 grams of shabu with standard drug price worth P114,240.00.

Malabon deputy chief of police Lt. Col. Rhoderick Juan said the arrested suspects will be charged for violating R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office.
