AUTHORITIES have arrested two suspected drug pushers and seized some P9.1 million worth of shabu during the conduct of “Oplan Galugad” Sunday afternoon in Taguig City.

In his report to Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg, Taguig police chief P/Col. Celso Rodriguez said the arrested suspects, identified as Jaime Nepacina and Eskak Kamsa, were accosted by elements of Sub-Station 9 led by P/ Maj. Crisanto Agualin during an Oplan Galugad operation for not wearing face masks at around 4:30 p.m.along Road 16, Purok 2 Maguindanao St. Brgy. Lower Bicutan.

The suspects, while carrying a green eco-bag, allegedly tried to escape but due to hastiness, a transparent plastic bag containing suspected shabu slipped from their bag.

After a brief chase, the suspects were cornered and during the search, policemen recovered from them more or less one kilo and 350 grams of shabu with standard drug price amounting to Php 9,180,000.00, a bundle of 100-peso bills amounting to P10,000, a weighing scale and one unit of cellular phone.

The arrested suspects were brought to the Custodial Facility of Taguig City Police Station, pending the filing of charges for violation of Article II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002.

“Hindi tumitigil ang Southern Police District sa operasyon laban sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.” P/BGEN Macaraeg said as he urged the public to support the fight against all forms of illegal activities for a peaceful and orderly community.
