P1.3M shabu found in parcel from S. Africa

IMUS CITY, Cavite — A parcel allegedly containing shabu and delivered to Barangay San Marino, Dasmarinas, Cavite, was discovered by police on Friday, January 13, 2023.

The police arrested the recipient of the parcel who is a marketing officer.

A report gathered at the Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) showed elements of the PDEG-Intelligence and Foreign Liaison Division and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport- Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) and PDEA IV -A the seized the parcel at 6 p.m.

Authorities became suspicious when the parcel arrived at the Interdiction Operations Controlled Delivery and went through the machine. They noticed that something strange was inside the package.

An operation was laid out by the group to follow the delivery of the parcel.

The parcel was declared to contain a deep tissue massager. Seized were four carbon papers, four foil pouches containing 200 grams of shabu worth P1,360,000, a blue clipboard, a receipt, an invoice, a Philippine passport and a cellular phone.
