OVP launches activities for Teachers’ Month
THE Office of the Vice President showed its support to the school teachers by conducting nationwide tree-planting activities.
The National Teachers’ Month is observed in September.
The OVP earlier announced it will partner with the Department of Education and will join the country in celebrating the contributions of Filipino teachers to the nation’s growth.
Series of tree-planting activities will be done through the 10 OVP Satellite Offices in Dagupan, Isabela, Region V, Cebu, Bacolod, Tacloban, Davao, Surigao, Zamboanga and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
On Tuesday, the OVP conducted tree planting activities in Bonuan Buquig National High School, Pugaro Integrated School and Caranglaan Elementary School in Dagupan, Burgos West Elementary School in Isabela, Anislag Elementary School in Albay, Sandayung Elementary School in Cebu, Vista Alegre Granada Relocation Elementary School in Bacolod, St. Francis Elementary School in Tacloban, Sirib National High School in Davao, Babag Elementary School in Surigao, Mercedes National High School in Zamboanga, and LRI Sebastian Elementary School in BARMM.
Acknowledging the importance of protecting the environment for future generations, the OVP launched the multi-pronged Pagbabago: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign across the country this year.
Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte will lead the National Teachers’ Month kick-off celebration at the Bohol Wisdom School in Tagbilaran City Tuesday.
With the theme “Together4Teachers,” the celebration this year aims to pay tribute to the excellence and greatness of teachers who are partners in building a patriotic and child-friendly nation.
The month-long celebration will culminate on October 5, which is also the celebration of the World Teachers’ Day.
