AUTHORITIES seized more than P100 million worth of shabu from four high-value targets, including a woman, in separate buy-bust operations Thursday evening and Friday before dawn in Taguig and Caloocan cities.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said operatives of District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) under the supervision of P/Lt. Col. Renante Galang arrested Marisa Asi, 34, and Muslimin Kamid, 32, at around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday in front of their house at Block 128 Lot 4, Bgy. Maharlika after they handed a pack of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P35,000 marked money.

Lawmen seized from the two more or less eight kilos of shabu with standard drug price of P54,400,000 placed in a plastic pack with foreign writings and the marked money consisting of P1,000 genuine bill and 34 pieces of P1,000 boodle money.

“May this result of operation deliver a stern warning to those who continue doing illegal drug transactions in our AOR, wala kayong lugar sa Taguig o saan mang parte ng Southern Metro, mahuhuli at mahuhuli namin kayo,” Macaraeg said.

In Caloocan, Ali Usman alias ‘Tukayo,’ 38, of 311 P. Casal St., Quiapo, Manila, and Von Flores alias ‘Jeff,’ 37 of 106 Gov. Pascual St., Bgy. Niugan, Malabon City, were arrested by the DDEU of Northern Police District (NPD) inside Room 40 of Monaliza Lodge, Don Vicente St., Bgy. 136 Bagong Barrio at around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

The suspects allegedly agreed to enter into a transaction with an undercover cop inside Monaliza in Bagong Barrio for a medium-sized plastic sachet of shabu worth P75,000 that resulted in their arrest.

Seized from the suspects, apart from the medium-sized plastic sachet which was the subject of the buy-bust, were eight large Chinese tea bags containing shabu weighing more or less 8.55 grams valued at P54,774,000 and marked money consisting of P1,000 genuine peso bill and 74 pieces of boodle money.

National Capital Region Office Director P/Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said the confiscated shabu placed in Chinese tea bags were possibly included or remains of illegal drugs they seized in recent police operations in Zambales and Cavite.

“I would like to commend the elements of DDEU NPD for apprehending these high value targets and for recovering more than 8 kilos of suspected illegal drugs. This accomplishment marks a major turning point in our fight against this dangerous substance,” he said.
