NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office director, Brigadier General Anthony A. Aberin announced the arrest of 2,703 wanted persons in Metro Manila in a week-long anti-crime drive all over the metropolis.

He said that among those hauled to jail by the five NCRPO police districts and other operational units from November 23, 2024 to January 31 were 1,209 Most Wanted Persons or MWPs and 1,494 Other Wanted Persons.

Tracker teams from the Northern, Eastern Manila, Southern and Quezon City Police Districts accounted for majority of the wanted lawbreakers amid their unrelenting effort to put to jail all lawless elements and keep peace and order in the metropolis, Brig. Gen. Aberin said.

“This milestone is not just a statistics—it is a testament to the NCRPO’s uncompromising pursuit of justice, proving that no fugitive can outrun the law when backed by precision, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to public safety,” the official said.

The NCRPO director said that last February 1, his men also accounted for two high-profile fugitives in the metropolis.

One of the suspects, a 19-year-old man tagged as the Top 2 Regional Most Wanted Person in Metro Manila was arrested by members of the NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division-Regional Special Operations Group in his hiding place in San Andres Bukid in Manila. The suspect was wanted for murder.

The 2nd, the Top 8 Regional MWP in Metro Manila was arrested in front of a barangay hall in General Trias City in Cavite. Members of the MPD Station 2 captured the 30-year-old accused wanted for rape and three counts of violation of Republic Act 7610 or the anti-child abuse law.

Brig. Gen. Aberin commended the NCRPO officers and men behind the arrest of the wanted lawbreakers.

“NCRPO’s message is crystal clear: Metro Manila will not be a safe haven for those who continuously evade the law. We shall exhaust all resources to hunt fugitives and we will explore all legal options to bring justice to all victims of crimes and their families,” he said.
