Over 1K Cavite couples to wed this love month

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – As a celebration of the love month and Valentine’s Day, Cavite local government units (LGUs) will hold a mass wedding in their cities and towns “free” and at no cost in marriage license fees and even their wedding receptions.

This coming Valentine’s Day, five cities and two towns will host free weddings like in Dasmariñas City, with 751 couples scheduled to take their marriage vows to be solemnized by Mayor Jenny A. Barzaga and Cavite 4th District Congressman Elipidio “Pidi” Barzaga.

According to Dasmariñas City Public Information Officer Jopet Adrian Movido, the wedding rite will be held at the newly erected 5,000 seating capacity Dasmariñas City Arena on Congressional Road in Barangay Burol Main.

In Bacoor City, Mayor Edwin “Strike” Revilla will preside over the wedding of 150 couples scheduled at the Strike Gym inside the Bacoor Government Center (BGC) on Molino Boulevard.

In Tagaytay City, Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino will administer the wedding vows of love couples at Trabiesa Tagaytay along Tagaytay-Mendez road together with other local officials of the city.

In Trece Martires City, Mayor Gemma Lubigan will stand as a solemnizing officer and Vice Mayor Bobby Montehermoso and the council as “Godparents” for 151 couples to be held at Colegio de Amore in Barangay Luciano.

In Imus City, Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula will lead the wedding ceremony for 50 couples of the locality to be held at session hall, 4th floor of the new Imus City Hall in Barangay Malagasang 1-G.

The Imus local government offers free wedding receptions, appliance showcases, wedding rites, portraits and albums in addition to free marriage license processing.

Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua will lead the wedding rites of 26 couples to be held at the Pavilion of Long Beach Resort in Bgy. San Rafael IV at 5 p.m. with Board Member Davey Chua and councilors as “Ninong and Ninangs.”

In Carmona town, Mayor Dahlia Loyola will lead the annual free wedding for 37 couples to be held at the town plaza in Bgy. Poblacion on February 14, here, which is one of the lined-up activities in their 166th foundation anniversary.

The local government of Cavite City will be using a bouquet of onions and vegetables for the 30 couples at the free garden wedding presented by Mayor Denver Chua and Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Chua’s Pavillion in Bgy. Dalahican.

Mayor Denver said they chose to be practical, so they can use onions and various vegetables instead of an expensive bouquet usually used whenever someone gets married.

According to the Cavite City chief executive, after the wedding rites, the couple can start including the veggie in their recipes, and the local government will also provide a sack of rice to the newlyweds apart from the free reception.

Fifty couples tied the knot and officiated by General Trias City Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV at the General Trias City Park in Bgy. San Juan 1 on February 8, with Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen and City Councilors as Godparents.

In Silang town, Mayor Kevin Anarna was the solemnizing officer of the 23 couples during the mass wedding held at the new Municipal Hall in Bgy. Biga 1 on February 10, 2023.

While 50 couples are scheduled to tie their knots on February 28, 2023 in Tanza town as part of their 109th foundation anniversary and Lohitor Festival 2023.
