ORIENTAL Mindoro – As promised by Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito Bonz Dolor and Vice Governor Ejay Falcon, together with the Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Ahop Agate to further enrich and preserve the culture and history of the indigenous community, two museums were built, the Oriental Mindoro Heritage Museum in Calapan town and the Oriental Mindoro Heritage and Cultural Center in Mansalay town.

As part of the support of recognizing IPs (indigenous peoples), the provincial government created “Mangyan wards” in public hospitals.

Additional educational scholarships were awarded to indigenous youth and assisted Tadyawan and Taubuid tribes for the “Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title” (CADT).

According to Dolor and the Falcon, all of this is “an offering to the indigenous brothers” to make them feel they are part of the government.

At the Mangyan Summit 2022 (1st District) led by Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO), the local executives learned more about the basic needs of the IPs and indigenous cultural communities (ICCs)
