Female OFW about to take flight to Japan

A 25-YEAR-OLD female overseas Filipino worker (OFW) died along with two others, including a food deliver rider, when they were peppered with bullets by a still unidentified gunman before dawn Sunday in Taguig City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Acting District Director P/Col. Kirby John Kraft said Marie Angelica Belina, OFW and resident of Brgy. Pachoca, Calapan City, Mindoro and Mark Ian Desquitado, 35, Grab driver, of 25 Blk 5 Zone 1 Brgy. Fort Bonifacio, died on the spot from bullet wounds in the body while Tashane Joshua Branzuela, 22, of 164 Zone 1 Brgy. Fort Bonifacio succumbed to bullet wounds while being rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital.

Taguig police chief P/Col. Baesa said the incident occurred at around 3:20 a.m. in front of Delsie’s Room, a transient house, located on 12 Blk 5 Zone 1 Gate 3 Brgy. Fort Bonifacio.

The victims were about to leave to take Belina to the airport for her scheduled flight to Japan when they were shot by the suspect who escaped on board a van.

Baesa in an interview by radio reporters said they are looking into a crime of passion as a motive for the killing.

Kraft has ordered the probers to conduct a deeper investigation to determine the real motive behind the killing and immediate arrest of the perpetrator.

“Hinihingi ko din po ang kooperasyon ng publiko na kung may impormasyon ay huwag mag-atubiling dumulog sa Taguig City Police upang ating maresolba ang nasabing insidente at mapanagot ang nasa likod ng krimeng ito,” he added.
