CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan has filed his Certificate of Candidacy on Wednesday as representative of the First District, while his son, Rep. Dale “Along” Malapitan filed his COC for mayor of the city at the office of the Commission on Election (Comelec)

Prior to the filing of his COC, Mayor Oca delivers his last State of the City Address (SOCA) at the Caloocan Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon where he emphasized his fulfilled projects and accomplishments.

Mayor Oca stated.

In his speech, Mayor Oca looked back on all his priority projects he successfully fulfilled when he assumed office as the city chief executive in 2003, including the construction of two new campuses of University of Caloocan City (UCC) for the purpose of providing proper university for Caloocan students.

He also revealed how he promoted the free tuition fee in the city-run UCC by means of an ordinance authored by Congressman Along Malapitan who was then a member of the City Council.

Mayor Oca also reported major projects he accomplished and were successively inaugurated under his administration, including the New Caloocan City Hall, Caloocan City Complex, Caloocan Sports Complex, Caloocan North Medical Center, Kanlungan Drug Rehabilitation Center, People’s Park, Amparo Nature’s Park, Police Sub-Stations and many more.

Good Local Governance,” he stated.

In his message, Mayor Oca said he will continue to give priority in fighting against COVID-19 by paying close attention to trace, test, treat and vaccinate.

Mayor Oca said that even in his final term, he will continue to push for the construction of his line-up projects, like the New Caloocan City Judicial Complex and UCC Bagong Silang Campus.
