THE National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) has affirmed the wage orders issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) in Cagayan Valley, MIMAROPA (Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan), and SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City) on Friday.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III, who chairs the Commission, said the wage orders grant higher pay for domestic workers in Region II, minimum wage earners, and domestic workers in Region IV-B, and minimum wage earners in Region XII.

Bello lauded the wage boards for resolving with dispatch the petitions for wage adjustments in their jurisdictions.

The RTWPB II issued Wage Order No. 02-DW-04 on May 18, which grants a P1,000-monthly wage increase for domestic workers in the Cagayan Valley region. This brings the monthly minimum wage rate to P5,000 from P4,000 under the previous Wage Order.

Meanwhile, RTWPB IV-B issued Wage Order No. RB-MIMAROPA-10 grants an increase of P35, bringing the new minimum wage rate to P329 for establishments with less than ten workers and P355 for establishments employing ten or more workers.

Also, the Board issued Wage Order No. RB-MIMAROPA-DW-03 granted an increase of P1,000 to the monthly wage rate of domestic workers, bringing the new minimum wage in the region to P4,500.

Lastly, RTWPB XII issued Wage Order No. RBXII-22 granting a P32-wage increase to be given in tranches – P16 upon the effectivity of the Wage Order and another P16 on September 1, 2022.

This brings the new minimum wage rate in the region to P368 for the non-agriculture sector and P347 for agriculture/service/retail establishments.

The wage orders shall take effect 15 days after publication in a newspaper of regional circulation.

The NWPC has also recently affirmed the wage orders in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Western Visayas.

The new minimum wage in NCR will take effect on June 4, while that in Western Visayas will take effect on June 5.
