THE National Unity Party (NUP) on Thursday declared support for the vice presidential bid of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD).

NUP Deputy Secretary General and Spokesman Reggie Velasco made the announcement after the party endorsed the presidential bid of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).

“We wish to announce that the National Unity Party(NUP) has decided to endorse the vice presidential bid of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte,” the NUP said in a statement.

“We are one with Mayor Sara Duterte in her call ‘Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas’ as this is a basic requirement for the country’s full recovery from the (coronavirus disease-19) COVID-19 pandemic as well as for the fulfillment of our sacred mandate to serve and protect our people,as enshrined in the Party constitution,” the NUP said.

“We call upon all our Party members to join hands with the Uniteam of former Senator Bongbong Marcos and Mayor Sara in nurturing national unity, peace and development,” the NUP added.
