NPD nabs 129 crime suspects in one week

AROUND 129 individuals were arrested by operatives of the Northern Police District (NPD) for various offenses in the weeklong massive anti-crime operations in the northern areas of Metro Manila.

NPD Director P/BGen. Ulysses Cruz said on Tuesday the police operations against illegal drugs, illegal gambling activities and other index and non-index crimes were part of their intensified campaign against crime and other offenses in CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) areas.

”Ang Northern Police District ay patuloy po na maglulunsad ng intensibong mga operasyon laban sa iba’t-ibang uri ng krimen, kabilang na rito ang ilegal na droga, ilegal na sugal, pagnanakaw, panghoholdap, paghuli sa mga wanted persons at iba pa upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa Lungsod ng CAMANAVA,” Cruz said.

He added that the massive anti-crime operation in CAMANAVA area that started on June 20 up to June 27, 2022 resulted in the arrest of 26 individuals involved in illegal drugs trade and the confiscation of more or less 605 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P4,118,292.00 and 3.5 grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at P420,00.

On illegal gambling, 48 people were arrested with several individuals still at large, four were nabbed for robbery, another four facing theft charges and one for qualified theft.

A total of 24 wanted persons were also arrested, four for violating illegal possession of firears, four for concealing deadly weapon, six for violating Anti Child Abuse law and other individuals involved in various criminal offenses.

Cruz said the NPD, together with all the chief of police of four cities in northern area of Metro Manila, will continue to conduct an intensified anti-criminality campaign against those involved in criminal activities and make sure they will be held accountable for their offenses.
