THE National Press Club (NPC) supports the call of ACT-CIS Partylist Rep.Erwin Tulfo in urging the Senate to file bill seeking the exclusion of media as witness in drug related cases as part of inventory team.

While the House approved the.amendment of RA 9165 sec 21.

The Senate on the other hand is yet to file the same measure.

NPC President Leonel Abasola said it is about time the said law be amended considering the dangers of the media personnels besides the hassle of attending hearings.

“Napapanahon na po na ma amyendahan ito dahil na rin sa nalalagay sa panganib ang buhay ng media” abasola said..

He added that the NPC and other stakeholders discussed the topic in a consultative meeting with the Presidential Task Force on media security.

Meanwhile, Cong.Erwin Tulfo give thanks to NPC for their support.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa NPC dahil suportado nila ang aking panawagan na huwag ng isama o gawing testigo ang mga mamamahayag sa operasyon ng droga dahil nanganganib po ang buhay ng mga dati kong kasama sa hanapbuhay” pahayag ni Cong Erwin.
