NPA lair discovered in Zambales

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police forces on Sunday discovered a lair of rebel troops in Zambales.

Members of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Botolan Municipal Police Station, 305th Mobile Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, 33rd Mechanized Company, Philippine Army, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit tracked down a hideout of the New People’s Army in Botolan town.

Authorities found in the area one M1 garand rifle, 28 pieces of M1 garand cartridge balls, two hand grenades, two cartridges for cal..40 gun, three buckshot grenades, a dilapidated M16 rifle, subversive documents, nine green backpacks, five pistol belts, a flag of the Communist Party of the Philippines, assorted clothes, medical and food supplies, and assorted sanitation and hygiene supplies.

“Our campaign against insurgency has no let-up. Due to our non-stop efforts together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the communist terror groups continue to suffer setbacks. We are doing the best we can to eventually achieve the goal of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict,” said Police Regional Office 3 Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay.
