Noveleta hosts adolescent congress
NOVELETA, Cavite – The local government here under Mayor Dino Chua and the Municipal Health Office led by Dr. Ma. Hilda Bucu holds Adolescent Congress at Primark Town Center in Barangay Magdiwang, Friday, April 22, 2022, for the “Teenage Pregnancy and Drug Use” prevention program.
Around 125 individuals aged 10-19 years old joined the confab from DepEd (Department of Education), out-of-school youths, and indigent families in the locality.
Dr. Mary Grace Tan-Uy, national chair, Advocacy against Teenage Pregnancy Program of Philippine Pediatric Society, spoke before the participants in cooperation with DepEd, MSWDO, Cavite Medical Society, and Cavite Provincial Health Office.
Mayor Chua, together with Dr. Bucu, Dr. Tan-Uy, and participants signed the “commitment wall” on their adherence to the program for the youth sector.
“We do this program to guide our youth to the right path, marami kase sa ating mga kabataan ay natutong mag-drugs and early age pregnancy, dito sa ating program na ito ay tuturuan kayo ng mga dapat gawin to teenage pregnancy prevention and drug addiction,” Mayor Chua said in his talk to the Noveleta youth.
Also, the Noveleta local government distributed volleyballs, basketballs, bags, badminton rackets, and shirts to all participants.
