Noveleta health workers catch COVID

NOVELETA, Cavite – Vaccination program were forced to stop and the Municipal Health Center and a lying-in center were ordered closed after 11 of its staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

The health workers had undergone RT PCR test last Monday.

In compliance with the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force’s health protocol, the infected Noveleta Health Office staff members are now undergoing quarantine and isolation.

Mayor Dino Chua said the Noveleta Health Center, Primark Vaccination Center, and Noveleta Lying-in Center were temporarily closed for disinfection.

Chua instructed the Local Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office to conduct disinfection in each of the affected offices while they remain closed.

According to the mayor, residents will be notified on the return of the health services.

“Pinapayuhan ko po ang ating mga kababayan na manatili muna sa kani-kanilang mga bahay ang mga kabataan, mga senior citizen at persons with disability dahil tayo po ay nasa Alert Level3,” the mayor said.

After recording zero COVID case during Christmas, Noveleta has recorded 36 active cases and 61 suspected cases on January 4.

Cavite was placed under alert level 3 from January 5-15 due to rise in COVID cases.
