Noveleta, Cavite City provide flu vax to daycare pupils

NOVELETA, Cavite – The local government of Noveleta and Cavite City has distributed free influenza vaccines for students of daycare centers and residents of the city to increase protection against influenza viruses amid the ongoing threat of COVID-19 variants and the “new normal.”

In Noveleta, under the leadership of Mayor Dino Chua, free flu vaccines will be given to the students of the 14 daycare centers of the said town for the 16 barangays from January 17 to 26, 2023.

According to Mayor Chua, “this is an offer from the local government of Noveleta so that our children have protection against the flu; I encourage the parents to bring their children to the daycare centers to be vaccinated.”

Noveleta Health Officer Dr. Ma. Hilda Bucu, in an interview, said, “There are 600 flu vaccines set aside for daycare pupils in 16 villages of Noveleta, our healthcare workers are already rotating on the scheduled days of our daycare centers here in Noveleta.”

Health workers are scheduled to visit Camella Homes and San Juan 2 Daycare Centers (DCC) on January 23; Celebrate at Noveca DCC in Poblacion on January 24; San Juan 1 and Little Genesis in San Rafael 4 on January 25; and Little Angels DCC in San Rafael 2 and Salcedo 2 DCC on January 26, 2023.

The scheduled vaccination was completed in Bgy. Salcedo 1 DCC and San Rafael 1 on January 17; VFL DCC and Good Shepherd DCC in Sta. Rosa 1 on January 18; and Children of Jesus and TIP Crest DCC in San Rafael III.

This Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, there will be 150 slots of free vaccination in Cavite City on a first-come, first-serve basis.

According to the social media post of the Cavite City LGU (local government unit), residents are encouraged to come to the Cavite City Medcare Facility in Bgy. 39 to get their free flu shots.

The free flu vaccine program was spearheaded by Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua, Vice Mayor Raleigh Grepo Rusit, Councilor Maureen Lu, chair of the Committee on Health and Sanitation, and the entire “Team Unlad Cavite.”
