No Pinoy casualties in Pakistan floods
NO Filipinos were reported affected by the floods from Sindh and Punjab, the Philippine Embassy in Pakistan said yesterday.
The Embassy is still waiting for a response from the Filipino community leader in Balochistan regarding their situation.
There are around 3000 Filipinos in Pakistan. Ninety percent are household service workers and the remaining are professionals and international organization staff.
Monsoon rains caused flashfloods in many areas in Pakistan killing more than 1,000 people and injured and displaced thousands more since June, officials have said.
Pakistan prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has asked for international help due to destructions caused by the flooding.
More than 33 million people have been displaced, authorities said.
