No. 4 drug ‘peddler’ nabbed in PRO11 drug bust
CAMP QUINTIN MERECIDO, Buhangin, Davao City – The region’s no. 4 drug trafficker was arrested over the weekend, and authorities seized over P300,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Davao City.
PRO11 Director Benjamin Silo Jr. said personnel of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 together with the San Pedro Police Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11-DCO conducted the buy-bust operation in Purok 4, Upper Ledesma Subdivision, Bgy. 10-A, Davao City, leading to the arrest of high-value target (HVT) Alfredo Sastre Viñas alias “Matit”.
Seized from Viñas were five plastic sachets of shabu wrapped in writing papers weighing at least 20 grams with an estimated street value of P320,000 and the marked money used in operation.
The suspect will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165.
“Tayo po ay hindi titigil sa paghuli at pagpuksa sa illigal na droga hanggang ating makamit ang ating misyon na isang drug-free at malaya sa kriminalidad ang ating rehiyon,” Silo said, as he commended his men for the successful arrest of the HVT.
