GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija – At least P200,000 worth of financial assistance on Monday was formally turned over to four Farmer-Irrigators Associations (FIAs) by the Division 6 office of the National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation Systems in this town.

NIA-UPRIIS Div.6 manager and engineer Jose Ariel G. Domingo said four cheques worth P50,000 each were awarded to the FIAs to serve as seed money for their chosen livelihood assistance project such as urban gardening and goat production.

Beneficiaries of NIA’s livelihood assistance program were the ANAMCU FIA headed by Sofronilo Santiago, Talugtug-Guimba FIA– Federico C. Cinense III, the V8CN1 FIA—Eduardo Capinpin, and Bagong Anyo FIA—Jovito Tabucaca.

“Silang FIAs ang magpapatakbo ng napili nilang livelihood program upang mapalago nila ang nasabing puhunan at matulungan ang kanilang grupo at mga kasapi na madagdagan ang kanilang kita sa bukid,” Domingo told the Journal Group.

The livelihood assistance program is one of the pet projects of NIA administrator Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen, in line with the directives of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., to provide sustainable support to the farmers and help them gain more profit and increase income.
