A TOTAL of 33,143 newly-promoted second-level officer of the Philippine National Police on Friday simultaneously took their oath of office during ceremonies led by PNP chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil.

The simultaneous oath-taking and pinning and donning of ranks is part of the PNP’s regular promotion cycle for Calendar Year 2024, recognizing the dedication and exemplary service of personnel who have shown outstanding commitment to law enforcement, said PNP Public Information Office chief Colonel Randulf T. Tuaño.

Among them were 505 newly-promoted police majors, 916 police captains and 810 new police lieutenants.

Others are 3,189 new police executive master sergeants, 3,359 new police chief master sergeant, 4,876 new police senior master sergeant, 9,712 new police master sergeant, 2,987 new police staff sergeants and 6,789 new police corporals.

At Camp Crame, 1,564 of the promotees took their oath of office before Gen. Marbil.

They include 251 personnel from the PNP National Headquarters, 2 from the area police commands, 16 from the Internal Affairs Service, 910 from the Nationals Support Units-Line and 385 from the National Support Units-Technical.

All 17 police regional office directors — from the National Capital Region Police Office to the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Administrative Region — also administered the same oath of office to their newly-promoted personnel.

The top cop emphasized that the promotion symbolizes more than just additional ranks and insignia.

“This promotion is not just about adding stripes or stars to your uniform; it is a testament to your dedication, hard work, and commitment to the noble service of law enforcement. It signifies the trust and confidence that the PNP places in you to carry greater responsibilities and meet the ever-evolving challenges of maintaining peace and order,” he said.

Gen. Marbil also reminded the promotees that higher ranks come with greater responsibility, accountability, and expectations.

“Every position demands competence, integrity, and selfless dedication. Let this promotion inspire you to uphold the highest standards of responsible policing and serve as role models for those who will follow in your footsteps,” he said.

The PNP chief further underscored the expectations that come with their new ranks, urging them to work harder, act with greater decisiveness, and uphold the PNP’s core values of Service, Honor, and Justice.

“The Filipino people rely on us to be guardians of peace, defenders of justice, and enforcers of the law. Let us make them proud. Let us strengthen public trust in the PNP and prove our unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe and secure nation,” he said.

According to Col. Tuaño, the PNP remains steadfast in professionalizing the ranks and enhancing the morale and welfare of its personnel.

This promotion program, he said underscores the organization’s commitment to developing competent, service-oriented police officers who will serve the nation with integrity, dedication, and excellence.
